Range

The slide trumpet is an instrument in D, which with the exception of the two gaps you can notice above plays chromatically. The slide has four positions, as opposed to the seven positions found on trombones. Notes further up, and also down, can be reached according to the player’s skills. The range shown above suits comfortably the „countertenor“ range of late medieval and renaissance three-part polyphony.
